This week on the Profiling Evil YouTube channel, we’re delving into the chilling saga of the Zizian cult—a radical group whose blend of anarchism, veganism, and AI skepticism has been linked to a series of violent crimes across the United States. As court proceedings unfold, the group’s disturbing ideology and actions have come under intense scrutiny.
The Zizian Cult: Origins and Beliefs
The Zizians, named after their alleged leader Jack “Ziz” LaSota, emerged from online rationalist communities in the mid-2010s. LaSota, a former NASA intern and AI critic, attracted a following among disillusioned tech professionals, many of whom shared her concerns about artificial intelligence and societal structures. The group’s beliefs evolved into a radical ideology that viewed landlords as inherently evil and animals as sacred, advocating for extreme measures to uphold their moral code.
A Trail of Violence
The Zizians have been implicated in a series of violent incidents:
- 2022: The death of Google programmer Emma Borhanian during a rent dispute marked the group’s first alleged crime.
- 2022: Landlord Curtis Lind was attacked and left with approximately 50 stab wounds; he later died in a separate incident linked to the group.
- 2023: The execution-style killings of Michelle Zajko’s parents in Pennsylvania.
- 2025: The shooting of U.S. Border Patrol agent David Maland during a high-speed chase in Vermont.
Courtroom Chaos and Legal Proceedings
Recent court hearings have been tumultuous. Alexander “Somni” Leatham, a transgender woman and Zizian member, was removed from a California courtroom after accusing jail guards of forcibly attempting to de-transition her and plotting her murder. Leatham faces charges related to the attempted murder of landlord Curtis Lind.
Meanwhile, Jack LaSota and other key members have been arrested and are facing multiple charges, including trespassing, obstructing law enforcement, and illegal gun possession. LaSota is being held without bail due to concerns about being a flight risk and a danger to public safety.

Expert Insights
In an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, I discussed the Zizian cult’s dangerous ideology and the psychological factors that may have influenced its members. Unlike traditional cults driven by money or sex, the Zizians are motivated by code and ideology, shaped more by their beliefs than traditional cult motivations. Their actions reflect a disconnection from reality, rooted in a shared disillusionment with modern society.
